2mm Aluminium Kits - NOW AVAILABLE

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this kit fit my corrugated roof?
Yes - this 50m kit is built specifically for corrugated (standard wavy profile) roofs, with trims and saddles shaped to suit that profile. If you have a different roof type like Trimdek, Klip-Lok or tile, choose the matching kit instead, or call us on 1300 156 197 and we'll sort the right one.
How do I install it on a corrugated roof?
Roll the mesh out along your gutter and pin it with one screw. Fit the trims to the gutter lip first (the longer side pins the mesh into the gutter), then install the saddles at 7 per metre — one on the high point of every second corrugation, screwed through its centre hole into the centre of the high point so the flaps hug the mesh down into the low points. Keep each screw dead-centre on the high point: if it drifts more than a millimetre the saddle lifts slightly and lets debris underneath. It's a DIY job — secure your ladder, use a harness and take your time.
What does the 4mm mesh actually keep out?
The 4mm aluminium mesh (3mm x 4mm aperture) stops leaves, twigs, general debris, birds and mice from getting into your gutters and roof cavity. Being honest: it minimises rather than eliminates - very fine matter like seeds, blossom and pine needles can still sit on top or work through, so think of it as a big reduction in cleaning, not a never-touch-it-again fix.
Will it stop possums?
No - aluminium won't stop a determined possum, and we've seen them tear straight through aluminium mesh to get back to young in a roof. If possums are your real concern you need a steel mesh; we can source steel kits on request, so give us a call on 1300 156 197.
What's actually in the kit?
You get the 50m of 4mm aluminium mesh plus the saddles and clips (from leading Australian suppliers including BlueScope®), Colorbond-matched trims, and Class-3 self-drilling screws to fix it all off. It's a complete DIY kit - mesh, fixings and trims in one.
How is it sold and can I get a custom width or colour?
Mesh is sold in 10-metre increments (this is the 50m kit), and we can cut custom widths for a small $25-per-roll cut fee. The full Colorbond-matched colour range is available except a few colours the steel suppliers have discontinued - and we can build custom kits for unusual roofs or box gutters on request.
Why is yours better than the cheap kits online?
We use locally-sourced steel from leading Australian suppliers including BlueScope®, with premium powder coating that's salt-spray tested past 1000 hours for coastal durability. Cheap overseas imports can look fine at first but fade fast and their screw coatings can go rusty-red - our local steel and coating are why the guard lasts.
What does the 20-year warranty cover?
The 20-Year Industry-Leading Warranty covers degradation of the material itself - the mesh and coating breaking down or fading over time. To be straight with you, it doesn't cover damage from falling branches, hail or neglect, because gutter guard is about minimising maintenance, not eliminating it.
Is it hard to install myself, and what about shipping?
It's designed for DIY - follow our installation guides, secure your ladder, use a harness and take your time. Shipping is free over $500 (flat $20 under), dispatched from our Gold Coast warehouse same or next business day, with 1-7 days to most metro areas.
