Frequently Asked Questions

What roof does the 750mm width suit?
750mm is one of our wider rolls, built for tile valleys and larger box gutters where you need the mesh to span a broad gap. For standard tile roofs most people use 500mm, and for corrugated, Trimdek or Klip-Lok profiles 250mm is usually plenty, so only step up to 750mm if you genuinely have a wide valley or box gutter to cover.
This is "Mesh Only" - what's not included?
You get the 4mm aluminium mesh roll on its own, with no saddles, clips, trims or screws. Choose mesh-only if you've already got fixings or you're attaching it your own way; if you want everything to do the job in one go, look at our full kits instead.
What does the 4mm aperture actually keep out?
The 3mm x 4mm aperture stops leaves, twigs and general debris, and it also keeps out birds and mice. Being honest, gutter guard minimises maintenance rather than eliminating it - very fine matter like seeds, blossom and pine needles can still sit on top or work through, so the goal is far less cleaning, not never cleaning.
Will this stop possums or embers?
No on both counts. Aluminium won't stop a determined possum - we've seen them rip straight through aluminium to get back to their young in the roof, so possums need a steel mesh, which we can source on request (call 1300 156 197). For wind-borne embers and bushfire protection you want our 2mm Ember Guard instead, not this 4mm.
Just want to keep birds out - do I need to do the valleys too?
For birds you generally only need mesh on the gutters themselves, not the valleys. Plenty of places will upsell you valley mesh you may not actually need for bird-proofing, so unless you've got another reason to mesh the valleys, sticking to the gutters can save you money.
How is it sold, and can I get a custom width?
It's sold in 10-metre increments (this listing is one 10m roll), not per metre, so order the number of rolls that covers your run. The 750mm is a stock width, but if you need an odd width cut down we can do custom cuts for a small $25-per-roll cut fee - just get in touch before ordering.
Why pay more than the cheap imported mesh online?
Our guard uses locally-sourced steel components from leading Australian suppliers, including BlueScope®, with a premium powder coating that's salt-spray tested past 1000 hours for coastal durability. Cheap overseas imports can look fine on day one but fade fast and their screw coatings often go rusty-red, which is exactly what the local steel and coating are there to avoid.
What's the warranty and how does shipping work?
It carries our 20-Year Industry-Leading Warranty covering degradation of the material itself - the mesh and coating breaking down or fading. To be upfront, it doesn't cover damage from falling branches, hail or neglect. Shipping is free over $500 and a flat $20 under that, dispatched from our Gold Coast warehouse, generally 1-7 days to metro areas.
