2mm Aluminium Kits - NOW AVAILABLE

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the 250mm width right for my roof?
250mm suits most corrugated, Trimdek and Klip-Lok profiles. If you have a tile roof, a wider 500mm roll usually works better, and tile valleys or large box gutters call for 750mm or 1000mm. Not sure which fits? Call us on 1300 156 197 and we'll match it to your roof, and we can build custom kits for unusual roofs or box gutters on request.
What does the 2mm Ember Guard actually stop?
The 2mm x 2mm aperture is our fire choice: it blocks wind-borne embers plus finer debris, on top of the leaves, twigs, birds and mice a standard 4mm guard handles. Honestly though, gutter guard minimises debris rather than eliminating it, so very fine matter like seeds, blossom and pine needles can still pass or sit on top. There's no perfect 'never clean again' product short of having no gutter at all, so we'd rather set that expectation up front.
Is it really fire rated, and what can I claim?
It's manufactured to AS 3959-2018, CSIRO tested and non-combustible, suitable across BAL ratings. We keep our claims honest and don't quote a specific BAL number, because suitability depends on your overall installation and a proper bushfire assessment of your site.
How is the mesh sold, and can you cut it to my exact width?
It's sold in 10-metre increments (not per metre), so order the total length you need rounded up to the nearest 10m. We can also cut custom widths for a small $25-per-roll cut fee if 250mm isn't quite right; call 1300 156 197 for unusual roofs or box gutters.
This is mesh only, so what else do I need?
Mesh-only rolls are for DIYers who already have their saddles, clips, screws and trims, or who only need to replace the mesh itself. If you want everything in one go, order a full kit instead, which includes the fixings and Colorbond-matched trims to suit your roof. We carry the full colour range bar a few discontinued colours the steel suppliers no longer offer.
Will this aluminium mesh keep possums out?
No. Aluminium handles birds, mice and leaves, but a determined possum will rip through it. We've seen aluminium torn open by possums getting back to their young in the roof, so if possums are your concern you need a steel mesh. We can source steel kits on request, just give us a call on 1300 156 197.
Why choose your mesh over a cheaper import?
Cheap overseas mesh can look fine on day one with a tidy powder coat, then fade fast and the screw coatings can go rusty-red. Ours uses locally-sourced steel from leading Australian suppliers including BlueScope® and a premium powder coating, salt-spray tested past 1000 hours for coastal durability, which is why it lasts.
What's covered by the warranty and how does shipping work?
The 20-Year Industry-Leading Warranty covers degradation of the material itself, the mesh and coating breaking down or fading; it does not cover damage from falling branches, hail or neglect, as gutter guard is about minimising maintenance, not eliminating it. Shipping is free over $500 and a flat $20 under, dispatched same or next business day from our Gold Coast warehouse depending on stock, typically 1-7 days to metro areas.
How do I install the mesh-only roll myself?
This mesh is designed for DIY install, and most handy homeowners manage it fine. Follow our installation guides, secure your ladder properly, use a harness, and take your time, especially on a two-storey job. If your roof is unusual or you're working around box gutters, call us on 1300 156 197 before you start and we'll point you in the right direction.
