2mm Aluminium Kits - NOW AVAILABLE

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this mesh actually fire-rated, and what compliance does it meet?
Yes — the 2mm Ember Guard is made for bushfire-prone areas. It's non-combustible aluminium, CSIRO tested, and manufactured to AS 3959-2018, making it suitable across BAL ratings for ember protection.
How do I install it on a corrugated roof?
Roll the mesh out along your gutter and pin it with one screw. Fit the trims to the gutter lip first (the longer side pins the mesh into the gutter), then install the saddles at 7 per metre — one on the high point of every second corrugation, screwed through its centre hole into the centre of the high point so the flaps hug the mesh down into the low points. Keep each screw dead-centre on the high point: if it drifts more than a millimetre the saddle lifts slightly and lets debris underneath. It's a DIY job — secure your ladder, use a harness and take your time.
What's the difference between 2mm Ember Guard and your 4mm gutter guard?
The 2mm x 2mm aperture is the fire choice — it blocks wind-borne embers plus finer debris, whereas our 4mm (3mm x 4mm) range is standard leaf, twig, bird and mouse protection. If embers are your concern, you want the 2mm; the tighter weave is what stops them entering the gutter.
Will it stop embers completely and keep my gutters clean forever?
It dramatically minimises ember entry and debris build-up, but no gutter guard eliminates either — very fine matter like seeds, blossom and pine needles can still sit on top or pass through. Treat it as serious risk reduction and minimised maintenance, not a permanent set-and-forget fix.
What's in the corrugated kit and how is it sold?
It's a complete DIY kit for corrugated roofs — mesh, Colorbond-matched trims, and saddles and clips from leading Australian suppliers including BlueScope®, with Class 3 self-drilling screws. Mesh is sold in 10-metre increments (not per metre), and we can cut custom widths for a small $25-per-roll cut fee.
What colours can I get, and how good is the steel?
We carry the full Colorbond-matched colour range bar a few shades the steel mills have discontinued. Our steel components are locally sourced from leading Australian suppliers including BlueScope® with premium powder coating and 1000+ hour salt-spray testing — cheap overseas imports can look fine at first but fade fast and their screws go rusty-red, which is exactly what ours is built to resist.
How does the 20-year warranty work?
The 20-Year Industry-Leading Warranty covers degradation of the material itself — the mesh and coating breaking down or fading over time. To be straight with you, it doesn't cover damage from falling branches, hail or neglect, since a gutter guard is about minimisation, not an indestructible cover.
Is it easy to install myself, and what about shipping?
It's designed for DIY — follow our installation guides, secure your ladder, use a harness and take your time; if you've got an unusual roof or box gutters, call us on 1300 156 197 for a custom kit. Shipping is free over $500 or a flat $20 under, dispatched from our Gold Coast warehouse, usually 1–7 days to metro areas.
