Frequently Asked Questions

What is this drill bit actually for?
It is a 1/4 inch 65mm magnetic hex head driver bit for installing gutter guard. It drives the hex-head self-drilling screws used to fix mesh, saddles and clips to your gutter and roof.
Why does the magnetic tip matter?
Up a ladder you have one hand on the rung and one hand working, so the magnetic head holds the screw on the bit for you. That means no juggling loose screws at height, fewer dropped fasteners, and a faster, safer install. Always secure your ladder and use a harness regardless.
Will it fit my drill?
Yes. The 1/4 inch hex shank fits any standard cordless drill or impact driver chuck, so you can use the drill you already own.
Does it work with your screws?
Yes, it is sized for the Class 3 self-drilling hex-head screws we supply with our gutter guard kits. It is matched to those fasteners so the magnetic head seats the screw cleanly and drives it home.
Why 65mm instead of a short bit?
The extra length gives you reach and clearance over the gutter lip and trims, so you are not skinning your knuckles getting the screw into tight spots along the gutter line. It is the length we reach for on real installs.
Should I buy a spare?
We would. Bits are consumable and a worn or rounded tip will cam out and chew screw heads, which is frustrating at height. A spare in your toolbag means a flat tip never stops a job halfway.
How much is shipping?
Shipping is free on orders over $500 and a flat $20 under that, dispatched from our Gold Coast warehouse, with metro delivery typically 1 to 7 days. If you are ordering mesh and kit anyway, drop a couple of bits in the same order.
